Boost Metabolism With White Tea Drink Infused With Berries & Lemon

Give your metabolism a boost with a white tea drink! True!! White tea is the “new” black to rev your metabolism and boost calorie burn. Made with the tender young buds of the tea-plant, white tea boasts more EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) than black and green tea. EGCG is a potent antioxidant that is believed to have therapeutic applications in the treatment of many disorders including cancer. Studies suggest that EGCG may boost metabolism and help burn fat. Plus it also prevents fat cells from forming when consumed regularly. White tea is the least processed tea of all teas which is one of the reasons it has such potent levels of EGCG. You can drink it plain or try the flavored versions available on the market. I like to blend pure white tea with some berries and lemon and get a mildly flavored drink that tastes great. Sometimes I just dunk the berries into hot tea and let it steep along with the tea bag. Adding lemon to the white tea drink will add to the metabolism boosting power. Since lemon is high in vitamin C it will reduce the amount of fat your body stores. The berries add enough sweetness and so I generally do without sugar. I may occasionally add some honey or stevia. If you add a sweetener, just make sure you don’t add more than a tsp or it will lessen the metabolism boosting power of the white tea drink. Be creative and make your own white tea drink concoctions with fruit or herbs. Aim for 4 glasses/day to get maximum metabolism boosting power of white tea. I had raspberries and I just steeped them to make this refreshing tea !
