Sweet & Tangy Chili Lime Fruit Salad #SundaySupper

It’s hot these days.  Here in DC, we’ve been hitting the 100 degrees mark and over!  So when my #Sunday Supper team decided on a “Beat the Heat” theme I gladly jumped on the bandwagon!  Jen from Juanita’s Cocina is hosting it this week and she has a really cool blog with lots of fab recipes. So many foods cool me down but I think  fruit takes the cake when it comes to beating the heat.  Fruit is the most hydrating food ( apart from water) on the planet.  Cool, fresh fruit laced with lime, chili, paprika,  sea salt and just a hint of ginger, scream “eat me “!!!  Not only is this a cool dish, it is also loaded with nutrients like fiber, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins with a perfect “pick me up” any time.  This fruit salad is so versatile it can be served many ways.  Chop it a bit and serve with chips as a fruit salsa. Toss some spinach or green leaves in and you have a tangy, fruity salad.  Top it with some whipped cream and you have dessert or just eat it plain.  I happened to be detoxing this week,  so I made a big batch and indulged all weekend.  It made my detox so much more interesting :) You can use any fruit you have lying around. Just make sure you add some citrus. The combo of citrus and chili is heady and perfect for a hot summer day.  Enjoy!!!

Chop it a bit and serve as an appetizer with chips !!

Toss in some green and make a Tangy & Sweet Salad !

Just eat it plain  !! Yummm !!!
