Made with the tender young buds of the tea-plant, white tea boasts more EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) than black and green tea. EGCG is a potent antioxidant that is believed to have therapeutic applications in the treatment of many disorders including cancer. Studies suggest that EGCG may boost metabolism and help burn fat. Plus it also prevents fat cells from forming when consumed regularly. White tea is the least processed tea of all teas which is one of the reasons it has such potent levels of EGCG. You can drink it plain or try the flavored versions available on the market. I like to blend pure white tea with some berries and lemon and get a mildly flavored drink that tastes great.
