White Chocolate Strawberry Ghosts #SundaySupper

White Chocolate Strawberry Ghosts #SundaySupper

Strawberries dipped in a dreamy mix of white chocolate and coconut, with just a whisper of coconut oil – these are the kind of treats that melt in your mouth and make you wonder why you haven’t been eating them every day since birth! So, when my Sunday Supper Squad decided on a “Trick or Treat” theme, I immediately knew what I was making. I stumbled upon this strawberry ghost recipe on the Taste of Home website and thought, “I can totally make this my own.”

First off, I swapped out the shortening for coconut oil – because, why not? Also threw in some shredded coconut flakes for texture, which gave the strawberries that perfect rough, ghostly vibe. Think spooky, but also delicious. Oh, and the best part? They actually taste amazing, so much so that I might start calling white chocolate “gourmet” from here on out.

I even got my kids involved, which was a blast. My 9-year-old proudly decorated the ghost faces, and honestly, her version was so cute I didn’t have the heart to put mine on display (let’s just say there were some… abstract designs on my end). We used dark chocolate to make the face expressions – because what’s a ghost without a little personality, right? Some were all “boo!” and others looked a bit more like “meh…” but hey, that’s the fun of it.

Now, let’s talk chocolate prep: to get that smooth, dip-worthy consistency, you want to use a double boiler – where the chocolate stays safely away from direct heat. But since I’m not fancy enough for a double boiler, I just made one. A shallow dish of water on the stove, another dish with the chocolate sitting above it, and boom – double boiler, DIY-style. It worked like a charm, and I didn’t burn down the kitchen.

In the end, we had a great time making these little treats, and I hope you have just as much fun making them (and eating them) too! 🎃🍓

Nutrition Wise!

Let’s talk strawberries—those little red gems are basically nature’s candy, but with a whole bunch of benefits. One cup of strawberries gives you over 13% of your daily fiber, which is like a VIP pass to a happy digestive system and the perfect weapon against overeating. (Goodbye, mindless snacking!) Plus, they’re super low in calories and packed with Vitamin C, making them the superhero fruit of your dessert lineup.

Now, let’s throw in coconut oil. It’s got those monounsaturated fats that your body loves to burn as fuel, not store as love handles. So, every time you indulge, your body’s like, “Hey, I’m burning this off, thanks for the energy!”

And then… chocolate. Honestly, chocolate is the ultimate icing on the cake (or berry, in this case). A little drizzle turns this already wholesome treat into a decadent yet (reasonably) healthy dessert. Because who says you can’t have your strawberries and eat them too?
